A damaged HDMI port is one of the most common reasons a console stops putting a picture on the TV. Ports get bent when a cable is stepped on, tripped over, or left plugged in while the console gets moved. Once the pins inside the connector are pushed over or broken, the picture can flicker, cut out when the cable moves, or disappear completely.
Not every console without a picture has a damaged port. If it points somewhere else inside the console, we tell you what we found rather than replacing a part that was never the problem.

Most consoles that run loud or shut off are packed with dust in places you cannot reach from the outside. These are from work done here.
Consoles do not all use the same material between the processor and the heatsink. Most use thermal paste. The PS5 ships with liquid metal from the factory, which is why those get looked at case by case instead of being treated like everything else.
Once paste dries out or pushes away from the edges of the chip, heat stops moving into the heatsink and the fan works overtime to make up for it. When we replace it we use a phase change material rather than ordinary paste. It settles into place at operating temperature and does not dry out or pump out the way paste does, so the fix holds instead of coming back in a year.
We check the console over and work out what we are actually dealing with before anything gets ordered or replaced.
